Advanced Category Management
Procurement and Supply Chain|5 days|Classroom or live online
This advanced programme assumes delegates already work in the field. It goes past the basics into supplier performance measurement, inventory optimisation and the judgement calls that sit outside the Preferential Procurement Policy Framework Act. At this level the constraint is rarely knowledge. It is judgement under pressure, which matters because category spend is one of the few remaining places to find margin without cutting headcount. Delegates leave able to work confidently with supply risk assessment, supplier relationship management and category management in their own organisation.
What delegates leave able to do
- Put supply risk assessment on a footing they can defend to a reviewer, measured against the Preferential Procurement Policy Framework Act
- Explain supplier relationship management to someone who does not do the work
- Spot where category management is failing before it becomes a finding
- Review bid adjudication and say plainly whether it is working
