Advanced Earthing and Bonding

5 days|Delivered on request

This advanced programme assumes delegates already work in the field. It goes past the basics into arc flash assessment, variable speed drives and the judgement calls that sit outside the Occupational Health and Safety Act. At this level the constraint is rarely knowledge. It is judgement under pressure, which matters because ageing plant is being asked to carry loads it was never specified for. Delegates leave able to work confidently with switchgear maintenance, earthing and bonding and lockout and tagout in their own organisation.

What delegates leave able to do

  • Make a decision about switchgear maintenance without waiting for a specialist, measured against the Occupational Health and Safety Act
  • Spot where earthing and bonding is failing before it becomes a finding
  • Bring lockout and tagout into line with current good practice
  • Put condition monitoring on a footing they can defend to a reviewer
