Advanced Transformer Maintenance

5 days|Delivered on request

This advanced programme assumes delegates already work in the field. It goes past the basics into substation operation, protection relays and the judgement calls that sit outside the Occupational Health and Safety Act. At this level the constraint is rarely knowledge. It is judgement under pressure, which matters because maintenance teams are increasingly expected to diagnose equipment they did not commission. Delegates leave able to work confidently with electrical safety procedure, switchgear maintenance and circuit breaker operation in their own organisation.

What delegates leave able to do

  • Put electrical safety procedure on a footing they can defend to a reviewer, measured against the Occupational Health and Safety Act
  • Bring switchgear maintenance into line with current good practice
  • Make a decision about circuit breaker operation without waiting for a specialist
  • Review motor control centres and say plainly whether it is working
