Battery and UPS Systems for Non-Specialists
Electrical and Power Engineering|2 days|Classroom or live online
Battery and UPS Systems for Non-Specialists is built for delegates who need to be useful in this area quickly. It starts at first principles and works through electrical safety procedure and variable speed drives without assuming prior specialist training. The programme exists because electrical incidents are among the few workplace risks that are immediately fatal, and because capability in this area is usually built on the job with no structure behind it. Delegates leave able to work confidently with protection relays, power factor correction and transformer maintenance in their own organisation.
What delegates leave able to do
- Put protection relays on a footing they can defend to a reviewer, measured against IEC standards
- Make a decision about power factor correction without waiting for a specialist
- Review transformer maintenance and say plainly whether it is working
- Bring load flow analysis into line with current good practice
