Cable Fault Location for Non-Specialists
Electrical and Power Engineering|2 days|Classroom or live online
Cable Fault Location for Non-Specialists is built for delegates who need to be useful in this area quickly. It starts at first principles and works through insulation testing and variable speed drives without assuming prior specialist training. The programme exists because electrical incidents are among the few workplace risks that are immediately fatal, and because capability in this area is usually built on the job with no structure behind it. Delegates leave able to work confidently with earthing and bonding, switchgear maintenance and motor control centres in their own organisation.
What delegates leave able to do
- Improve earthing and bonding within their own organisation, measured against recognised arc flash assessment practice
- Put switchgear maintenance on a footing they can defend to a reviewer
- Review motor control centres and say plainly whether it is working
- Take ownership of electrical fault analysis rather than escalating it
