Cable Fault Location for Small and Medium Enterprises

Electrical and Power Engineering|3 days|Classroom or live online

Cable Fault Location for Small and Medium Enterprises takes the discipline and works it through the constraints of this operating context, including earthing and bonding, arc flash assessment and the compliance obligations that come with it. The sector framing is necessary because maintenance teams are increasingly expected to diagnose equipment they did not commission, and generic training rarely survives contact with the local rules. Delegates leave able to work confidently with electrical safety procedure, substation operation and lockout and tagout in their own organisation.

What delegates leave able to do

  • Explain electrical safety procedure to someone who does not do the work, measured against recognised arc flash assessment practice
  • Review substation operation and say plainly whether it is working
  • Put lockout and tagout on a footing they can defend to a reviewer
  • Bring condition monitoring into line with current good practice
