Cable Fault Location: Tools and Techniques
Electrical and Power Engineering|3 days|Classroom or live online
This is a hands-on programme. Delegates spend most of the time working through arc flash assessment and electrical safety procedure on live scenarios rather than listening to theory about them. The practical emphasis is deliberate: ageing plant is being asked to carry loads it was never specified for, and reading about the method has repeatedly proved insufficient. Delegates leave able to work confidently with motor control centres, protection relays and electrical fault analysis in their own organisation.
What delegates leave able to do
- Put motor control centres on a footing they can defend to a reviewer, measured against the SANS wiring code
- Take ownership of protection relays rather than escalating it
- Bring electrical fault analysis into line with current good practice
- Improve power factor correction within their own organisation
