Capital Budgeting in the Public Sector
Finance and Accounting|3 days|Classroom or live online
Capital Budgeting in the Public Sector takes the discipline and works it through the constraints of this operating context, including financial instruments, consolidation and the compliance obligations that come with it. The sector framing is necessary because reporting standards keep moving and finance teams carry the consequence of getting them wrong, and generic training rarely survives contact with the local rules. Delegates leave able to work confidently with impairment testing, capital budgeting and audit readiness in their own organisation.
What delegates leave able to do
- Put impairment testing on a footing they can defend to a reviewer, measured against GRAP for public entities
- Bring capital budgeting into line with current good practice
- Take ownership of audit readiness rather than escalating it
- Review lease accounting and say plainly whether it is working
