Consequence Management in the Public Sector
Public Sector and Municipal Management|3 days|Classroom or live online
Consequence Management in the Public Sector takes the discipline and works it through the constraints of this operating context, including intergovernmental relations, supply chain compliance in government and the compliance obligations that come with it. The sector framing is necessary because officials are held personally accountable under legislation many have never been trained on, and generic training rarely survives contact with the local rules. Delegates leave able to work confidently with public participation, irregular expenditure and annual reporting in their own organisation.
What delegates leave able to do
- Put public participation on a footing they can defend to a reviewer, measured against the Municipal Systems Act
- Review irregular expenditure and say plainly whether it is working
- Spot where annual reporting is failing before it becomes a finding
- Take ownership of asset management rather than escalating it
