Consequence Management: Tools and Techniques
Public Sector and Municipal Management|3 days|Classroom or live online
This is a hands-on programme. Delegates spend most of the time working through intergovernmental relations and audit action planning on live scenarios rather than listening to theory about them. The practical emphasis is deliberate: service delivery failures usually trace back to planning rather than to budget, and reading about the method has repeatedly proved insufficient. Delegates leave able to work confidently with consequence management, service delivery planning and public participation in their own organisation.
What delegates leave able to do
- Take ownership of consequence management rather than escalating it, measured against the Batho Pele principles
- Bring service delivery planning into line with current good practice
- Review public participation and say plainly whether it is working
- Put annual reporting on a footing they can defend to a reviewer
