Cost Accounting in the Public Sector
Finance and Accounting|3 days|Classroom or live online
Cost Accounting in the Public Sector takes the discipline and works it through the constraints of this operating context, including working capital management, lease accounting and the compliance obligations that come with it. The sector framing is necessary because reporting standards keep moving and finance teams carry the consequence of getting them wrong, and generic training rarely survives contact with the local rules. Delegates leave able to work confidently with audit readiness, financial statement preparation and cost allocation in their own organisation.
What delegates leave able to do
- Improve audit readiness within their own organisation, measured against GRAP for public entities
- Explain financial statement preparation to someone who does not do the work
- Make a decision about cost allocation without waiting for a specialist
- Bring impairment testing into line with current good practice
