Council and Committee Procedure: Tools and Techniques
Public Sector and Municipal Management|3 days|Classroom or live online
This is a hands-on programme. Delegates spend most of the time working through supply chain compliance in government and ethics in the public service on live scenarios rather than listening to theory about them. The practical emphasis is deliberate: officials are held personally accountable under legislation many have never been trained on, and reading about the method has repeatedly proved insufficient. Delegates leave able to work confidently with public finance management, revenue management and public participation in their own organisation.
What delegates leave able to do
- Put public finance management on a footing they can defend to a reviewer, measured against the Batho Pele principles
- Explain revenue management to someone who does not do the work
- Make a decision about public participation without waiting for a specialist
- Spot where asset management is failing before it becomes a finding
