Electrical Fault Finding for Managers

Electrical and Power Engineering|3 days|Classroom or live online

This programme is for the person accountable for the work rather than the person doing it. It covers standby generation and electrical safety procedure from the position of someone who must review, approve and answer for the output. Managers carry this because electrical incidents are among the few workplace risks that are immediately fatal, and the accountability does not delegate cleanly. Delegates leave able to work confidently with electrical fault analysis, protection relays and transformer maintenance in their own organisation.

What delegates leave able to do

  • Put electrical fault analysis on a footing they can defend to a reviewer, measured against the Occupational Health and Safety Act
  • Review protection relays and say plainly whether it is working
  • Spot where transformer maintenance is failing before it becomes a finding
  • Bring substation operation into line with current good practice
