Electrical Maintenance Planning: Tools and Techniques
Electrical and Power Engineering|3 days|Classroom or live online
This is a hands-on programme. Delegates spend most of the time working through earthing and bonding and standby generation on live scenarios rather than listening to theory about them. The practical emphasis is deliberate: maintenance teams are increasingly expected to diagnose equipment they did not commission, and reading about the method has repeatedly proved insufficient. Delegates leave able to work confidently with condition monitoring, substation operation and electrical fault analysis in their own organisation.
What delegates leave able to do
- Take ownership of condition monitoring rather than escalating it, measured against the SANS wiring code
- Spot where substation operation is failing before it becomes a finding
- Bring electrical fault analysis into line with current good practice
- Review switchgear maintenance and say plainly whether it is working
What the course covers
- Earthing and bonding
- Standby generation
- Condition monitoring
- Substation operation
- Electrical fault analysis
- Switchgear maintenance
- Variable speed drives
