Electrical Safety for Non-Specialists
Electrical and Power Engineering|2 days|Classroom or live online
Electrical Safety for Non-Specialists is built for delegates who need to be useful in this area quickly. It starts at first principles and works through lockout and tagout and insulation testing without assuming prior specialist training. The programme exists because maintenance teams are increasingly expected to diagnose equipment they did not commission, and because capability in this area is usually built on the job with no structure behind it. Delegates leave able to work confidently with power factor correction, transformer maintenance and electrical safety procedure in their own organisation.
What delegates leave able to do
- Spot where power factor correction is failing before it becomes a finding, measured against recognised arc flash assessment practice
- Improve transformer maintenance within their own organisation
- Bring electrical safety procedure into line with current good practice
- Put substation operation on a footing they can defend to a reviewer
