Financial Statement Analysis for Non-Specialists

Finance and Accounting|2 days|Classroom or live online

Financial Statement Analysis for Non-Specialists is built for delegates who need to be useful in this area quickly. It starts at first principles and works through financial instruments and revenue recognition without assuming prior specialist training. The programme exists because reporting standards keep moving and finance teams carry the consequence of getting them wrong, and because capability in this area is usually built on the job with no structure behind it. Delegates leave able to work confidently with deferred tax, cost allocation and financial statement preparation in their own organisation.

What delegates leave able to do

  • Put deferred tax on a footing they can defend to a reviewer, measured against IFRS for SMEs
  • Bring cost allocation into line with current good practice
  • Explain financial statement preparation to someone who does not do the work
  • Spot where fraud detection is failing before it becomes a finding
