Fundamentals of Battery and UPS Systems
Electrical and Power Engineering|2 days|Classroom or live online
Fundamentals of Battery and UPS Systems is built for delegates who need to be useful in this area quickly. It starts at first principles and works through variable speed drives and arc flash assessment without assuming prior specialist training. The programme exists because ageing plant is being asked to carry loads it was never specified for, and because capability in this area is usually built on the job with no structure behind it. Delegates leave able to work confidently with earthing and bonding, substation operation and motor control centres in their own organisation.
What delegates leave able to do
- Spot where earthing and bonding is failing before it becomes a finding, measured against the SANS wiring code
- Review substation operation and say plainly whether it is working
- Put motor control centres on a footing they can defend to a reviewer
- Bring circuit breaker operation into line with current good practice
