Fundamentals of Category Management
Procurement and Supply Chain|2 days|Classroom or live online
Fundamentals of Category Management is built for delegates who need to be useful in this area quickly. It starts at first principles and works through supplier relationship management and spend analysis without assuming prior specialist training. The programme exists because procurement decisions are now audited for process as closely as for price, and because capability in this area is usually built on the job with no structure behind it. Delegates leave able to work confidently with contract administration, category management and logistics management in their own organisation.
What delegates leave able to do
- Explain contract administration to someone who does not do the work, measured against the PFMA and MFMA supply chain regulations
- Make a decision about category management without waiting for a specialist
- Spot where logistics management is failing before it becomes a finding
- Take ownership of inventory optimisation rather than escalating it
