Fundamentals of Condition Monitoring

Electrical and Power Engineering|2 days|Classroom or live online

Fundamentals of Condition Monitoring is built for delegates who need to be useful in this area quickly. It starts at first principles and works through insulation testing and motor control centres without assuming prior specialist training. The programme exists because ageing plant is being asked to carry loads it was never specified for, and because capability in this area is usually built on the job with no structure behind it. Delegates leave able to work confidently with transformer maintenance, load flow analysis and arc flash assessment in their own organisation.

What delegates leave able to do

  • Put transformer maintenance on a footing they can defend to a reviewer, measured against the SANS wiring code
  • Spot where load flow analysis is failing before it becomes a finding
  • Take ownership of arc flash assessment rather than escalating it
  • Make a decision about substation operation without waiting for a specialist
