Fundamentals of Electrical Installation Standards

Electrical and Power Engineering|2 days|Classroom or live online

Fundamentals of Electrical Installation Standards is built for delegates who need to be useful in this area quickly. It starts at first principles and works through substation operation and standby generation without assuming prior specialist training. The programme exists because electrical incidents are among the few workplace risks that are immediately fatal, and because capability in this area is usually built on the job with no structure behind it. Delegates leave able to work confidently with electrical safety procedure, arc flash assessment and power factor correction in their own organisation.

What delegates leave able to do

  • Take ownership of electrical safety procedure rather than escalating it, measured against IEC standards
  • Bring arc flash assessment into line with current good practice
  • Improve power factor correction within their own organisation
  • Review circuit breaker operation and say plainly whether it is working
