Fundamentals of Electrical Maintenance Planning

Electrical and Power Engineering|2 days|Classroom or live online

Fundamentals of Electrical Maintenance Planning is built for delegates who need to be useful in this area quickly. It starts at first principles and works through variable speed drives and condition monitoring without assuming prior specialist training. The programme exists because electrical incidents are among the few workplace risks that are immediately fatal, and because capability in this area is usually built on the job with no structure behind it. Delegates leave able to work confidently with substation operation, motor control centres and lockout and tagout in their own organisation.

What delegates leave able to do

  • Bring substation operation into line with current good practice, measured against IEC standards
  • Review motor control centres and say plainly whether it is working
  • Take ownership of lockout and tagout rather than escalating it
  • Make a decision about insulation testing without waiting for a specialist
