Fundamentals of Financial Due Diligence

Finance and Accounting|2 days|Classroom or live online

Fundamentals of Financial Due Diligence is built for delegates who need to be useful in this area quickly. It starts at first principles and works through lease accounting and audit readiness without assuming prior specialist training. The programme exists because reporting standards keep moving and finance teams carry the consequence of getting them wrong, and because capability in this area is usually built on the job with no structure behind it. Delegates leave able to work confidently with revenue recognition, financial instruments and capital budgeting in their own organisation.

What delegates leave able to do

  • Explain revenue recognition to someone who does not do the work, measured against the Companies Act
  • Take ownership of financial instruments rather than escalating it
  • Spot where capital budgeting is failing before it becomes a finding
  • Bring deferred tax into line with current good practice
