Fundamentals of High Voltage Operation
Electrical and Power Engineering|2 days|Classroom or live online
Fundamentals of High Voltage Operation is built for delegates who need to be useful in this area quickly. It starts at first principles and works through switchgear maintenance and substation operation without assuming prior specialist training. The programme exists because maintenance teams are increasingly expected to diagnose equipment they did not commission, and because capability in this area is usually built on the job with no structure behind it. Delegates leave able to work confidently with lockout and tagout, arc flash assessment and circuit breaker operation in their own organisation.
What delegates leave able to do
- Explain lockout and tagout to someone who does not do the work, measured against recognised arc flash assessment practice
- Take ownership of arc flash assessment rather than escalating it
- Review circuit breaker operation and say plainly whether it is working
- Improve standby generation within their own organisation
