Fundamentals of Integrated Development Planning
Public Sector and Municipal Management|2 days|Classroom or live online
Fundamentals of Integrated Development Planning is built for delegates who need to be useful in this area quickly. It starts at first principles and works through performance management in government and council procedure without assuming prior specialist training. The programme exists because service delivery failures usually trace back to planning rather than to budget, and because capability in this area is usually built on the job with no structure behind it. Delegates leave able to work confidently with irregular expenditure, grant management and ethics in the public service in their own organisation.
What delegates leave able to do
- Explain irregular expenditure to someone who does not do the work, measured against the PFMA
- Improve grant management within their own organisation
- Bring ethics in the public service into line with current good practice
- Put service delivery planning on a footing they can defend to a reviewer
