High Voltage Operation for Managers
Electrical and Power Engineering|3 days|Classroom or live online
This programme is for the person accountable for the work rather than the person doing it. It covers electrical safety procedure and switchgear maintenance from the position of someone who must review, approve and answer for the output. Managers carry this because maintenance teams are increasingly expected to diagnose equipment they did not commission, and the accountability does not delegate cleanly. Delegates leave able to work confidently with electrical fault analysis, arc flash assessment and earthing and bonding in their own organisation.
What delegates leave able to do
- Explain electrical fault analysis to someone who does not do the work, measured against the SANS wiring code
- Put arc flash assessment on a footing they can defend to a reviewer
- Take ownership of earthing and bonding rather than escalating it
- Review motor control centres and say plainly whether it is working
