High Voltage Operation in the Public Sector

Electrical and Power Engineering|3 days|Classroom or live online

High Voltage Operation in the Public Sector takes the discipline and works it through the constraints of this operating context, including power factor correction, switchgear maintenance and the compliance obligations that come with it. The sector framing is necessary because electrical incidents are among the few workplace risks that are immediately fatal, and generic training rarely survives contact with the local rules. Delegates leave able to work confidently with transformer maintenance, substation operation and cable fault location in their own organisation.

What delegates leave able to do

  • Put transformer maintenance on a footing they can defend to a reviewer, measured against IEC standards
  • Improve substation operation within their own organisation
  • Bring cable fault location into line with current good practice
  • Take ownership of earthing and bonding rather than escalating it
