High Voltage Operation: Tools and Techniques

This is a hands-on programme. Delegates spend most of the time working through variable speed drives and transformer maintenance on live scenarios rather than listening to theory about them. The practical emphasis is deliberate: ageing plant is being asked to carry loads it was never specified for, and reading about the method has repeatedly proved insufficient. Delegates leave able to work confidently with arc flash assessment, standby generation and electrical safety procedure in their own organisation.
What delegates leave able to do
- Explain arc flash assessment to someone who does not do the work, measured against the Occupational Health and Safety Act
- Review standby generation and say plainly whether it is working
- Spot where electrical safety procedure is failing before it becomes a finding
- Bring lockout and tagout into line with current good practice
