Instrumentation and Control for Non-Specialists
Electrical and Power Engineering|2 days|Classroom or live online
Instrumentation and Control for Non-Specialists is built for delegates who need to be useful in this area quickly. It starts at first principles and works through substation operation and standby generation without assuming prior specialist training. The programme exists because maintenance teams are increasingly expected to diagnose equipment they did not commission, and because capability in this area is usually built on the job with no structure behind it. Delegates leave able to work confidently with lockout and tagout, motor control centres and variable speed drives in their own organisation.
What delegates leave able to do
- Improve lockout and tagout within their own organisation, measured against the SANS wiring code
- Bring motor control centres into line with current good practice
- Take ownership of variable speed drives rather than escalating it
- Explain switchgear maintenance to someone who does not do the work
