Instrumentation and Control: Tools and Techniques

3 days|Delivered on request

This is a hands-on programme. Delegates spend most of the time working through protection relays and electrical safety procedure on live scenarios rather than listening to theory about them. The practical emphasis is deliberate: ageing plant is being asked to carry loads it was never specified for, and reading about the method has repeatedly proved insufficient. Delegates leave able to work confidently with circuit breaker operation, lockout and tagout and switchgear maintenance in their own organisation.

What delegates leave able to do

  • Take ownership of circuit breaker operation rather than escalating it, measured against IEC standards
  • Make a decision about lockout and tagout without waiting for a specialist
  • Improve switchgear maintenance within their own organisation
  • Bring motor control centres into line with current good practice
