Integrated Development Planning for Non-Specialists
Public Sector and Municipal Management|2 days|Classroom or live online
Integrated Development Planning for Non-Specialists is built for delegates who need to be useful in this area quickly. It starts at first principles and works through annual reporting and service delivery planning without assuming prior specialist training. The programme exists because service delivery failures usually trace back to planning rather than to budget, and because capability in this area is usually built on the job with no structure behind it. Delegates leave able to work confidently with council procedure, ethics in the public service and integrated development planning in their own organisation.
What delegates leave able to do
- Review council procedure and say plainly whether it is working, measured against the PFMA
- Improve ethics in the public service within their own organisation
- Take ownership of integrated development planning rather than escalating it
- Put municipal budgeting on a footing they can defend to a reviewer
