Irregular Expenditure Management Auditing and Assurance
Public Sector and Municipal Management|3 days|Classroom or live online
This programme is written from the assurance side. Delegates learn to test whether performance management in government and service delivery planning are working as claimed, and how to evidence the conclusion. Assurance work is under scrutiny because service delivery failures usually trace back to planning rather than to budget. Delegates leave able to work confidently with intergovernmental relations, consequence management and council procedure in their own organisation.
What delegates leave able to do
- Bring intergovernmental relations into line with current good practice, measured against the MFMA
- Take ownership of consequence management rather than escalating it
- Spot where council procedure is failing before it becomes a finding
- Make a decision about ethics in the public service without waiting for a specialist
