Issues Management for Non-Specialists
Communications and Public Relations|2 days|Classroom or live online
Issues Management for Non-Specialists is built for delegates who need to be useful in this area quickly. It starts at first principles and works through communication auditing and media relations without assuming prior specialist training. The programme exists because internal communication failures surface later as engagement and retention problems, and because capability in this area is usually built on the job with no structure behind it. Delegates leave able to work confidently with brand positioning, spokesperson training and content planning in their own organisation.
What delegates leave able to do
- Put brand positioning on a footing they can defend to a reviewer, measured against recognised crisis communication protocols
- Explain spokesperson training to someone who does not do the work
- Bring content planning into line with current good practice
- Take ownership of press release writing rather than escalating it
