Leading Ethics in the Public Service Teams
Public Sector and Municipal Management|3 days|Classroom or live online
This programme is for the person accountable for the work rather than the person doing it. It covers asset management and service delivery planning from the position of someone who must review, approve and answer for the output. Managers carry this because audit outcomes have become the dominant measure of municipal performance, and the accountability does not delegate cleanly. Delegates leave able to work confidently with ethics in the public service, performance management in government and supply chain compliance in government in their own organisation.
What delegates leave able to do
- Take ownership of ethics in the public service rather than escalating it, measured against the PFMA
- Make a decision about performance management in government without waiting for a specialist
- Bring supply chain compliance in government into line with current good practice
- Explain public participation to someone who does not do the work
