Leading Intergovernmental Relations Teams
Public Sector and Municipal Management|3 days|Classroom or live online
This programme is for the person accountable for the work rather than the person doing it. It covers ethics in the public service and supply chain compliance in government from the position of someone who must review, approve and answer for the output. Managers carry this because service delivery failures usually trace back to planning rather than to budget, and the accountability does not delegate cleanly. Delegates leave able to work confidently with revenue management, service delivery planning and council procedure in their own organisation.
What delegates leave able to do
- Put revenue management on a footing they can defend to a reviewer, measured against the Batho Pele principles
- Explain service delivery planning to someone who does not do the work
- Make a decision about council procedure without waiting for a specialist
- Bring consequence management into line with current good practice
