Leading Irregular Expenditure Management Teams
Public Sector and Municipal Management|3 days|Classroom or live online
This programme is for the person accountable for the work rather than the person doing it. It covers supply chain compliance in government and audit action planning from the position of someone who must review, approve and answer for the output. Managers carry this because officials are held personally accountable under legislation many have never been trained on, and the accountability does not delegate cleanly. Delegates leave able to work confidently with public finance management, revenue management and municipal budgeting in their own organisation.
What delegates leave able to do
- Explain public finance management to someone who does not do the work, measured against the Municipal Systems Act
- Improve revenue management within their own organisation
- Make a decision about municipal budgeting without waiting for a specialist
- Review service delivery planning and say plainly whether it is working
