Leading Power Factor Correction Teams

Electrical and Power Engineering|3 days|Classroom or live online

This programme is for the person accountable for the work rather than the person doing it. It covers circuit breaker operation and electrical fault analysis from the position of someone who must review, approve and answer for the output. Managers carry this because maintenance teams are increasingly expected to diagnose equipment they did not commission, and the accountability does not delegate cleanly. Delegates leave able to work confidently with power factor correction, insulation testing and earthing and bonding in their own organisation.

What delegates leave able to do

  • Review power factor correction and say plainly whether it is working, measured against the Occupational Health and Safety Act
  • Explain insulation testing to someone who does not do the work
  • Improve earthing and bonding within their own organisation
  • Take ownership of arc flash assessment rather than escalating it
