Leading Substation Operation Teams

Electrical and Power Engineering|3 days|Classroom or live online

This programme is for the person accountable for the work rather than the person doing it. It covers switchgear maintenance and standby generation from the position of someone who must review, approve and answer for the output. Managers carry this because electrical incidents are among the few workplace risks that are immediately fatal, and the accountability does not delegate cleanly. Delegates leave able to work confidently with substation operation, load flow analysis and lockout and tagout in their own organisation.

What delegates leave able to do

  • Spot where substation operation is failing before it becomes a finding, measured against IEC standards
  • Improve load flow analysis within their own organisation
  • Put lockout and tagout on a footing they can defend to a reviewer
  • Explain circuit breaker operation to someone who does not do the work
