Leading Variable Speed Drives Teams
Electrical and Power Engineering|3 days|Classroom or live online
This programme is for the person accountable for the work rather than the person doing it. It covers motor control centres and substation operation from the position of someone who must review, approve and answer for the output. Managers carry this because ageing plant is being asked to carry loads it was never specified for, and the accountability does not delegate cleanly. Delegates leave able to work confidently with variable speed drives, standby generation and protection relays in their own organisation.
What delegates leave able to do
- Take ownership of variable speed drives rather than escalating it, measured against the SANS wiring code
- Make a decision about standby generation without waiting for a specialist
- Bring protection relays into line with current good practice
- Explain load flow analysis to someone who does not do the work
