Managing Annual Reporting in Government

Public Sector and Municipal Management|3 days|Classroom or live online

This programme is for the person accountable for the work rather than the person doing it. It covers ethics in the public service and annual reporting from the position of someone who must review, approve and answer for the output. Managers carry this because service delivery failures usually trace back to planning rather than to budget, and the accountability does not delegate cleanly. Delegates leave able to work confidently with revenue management, audit action planning and grant management in their own organisation.

What delegates leave able to do

  • Improve revenue management within their own organisation, measured against the MFMA
  • Spot where audit action planning is failing before it becomes a finding
  • Explain grant management to someone who does not do the work
  • Put municipal budgeting on a footing they can defend to a reviewer
