Managing Arc Flash Safety

Electrical and Power Engineering|3 days|Classroom or live online

This programme is for the person accountable for the work rather than the person doing it. It covers condition monitoring and electrical fault analysis from the position of someone who must review, approve and answer for the output. Managers carry this because electrical incidents are among the few workplace risks that are immediately fatal, and the accountability does not delegate cleanly. Delegates leave able to work confidently with cable fault location, electrical safety procedure and substation operation in their own organisation.

What delegates leave able to do

  • Put cable fault location on a footing they can defend to a reviewer, measured against recognised arc flash assessment practice
  • Spot where electrical safety procedure is failing before it becomes a finding
  • Make a decision about substation operation without waiting for a specialist
  • Improve lockout and tagout within their own organisation
