Managing Circuit Breaker Operation
Electrical and Power Engineering|3 days|Classroom or live online
This programme is for the person accountable for the work rather than the person doing it. It covers protection relays and substation operation from the position of someone who must review, approve and answer for the output. Managers carry this because maintenance teams are increasingly expected to diagnose equipment they did not commission, and the accountability does not delegate cleanly. Delegates leave able to work confidently with transformer maintenance, variable speed drives and lockout and tagout in their own organisation.
What delegates leave able to do
- Put transformer maintenance on a footing they can defend to a reviewer, measured against recognised arc flash assessment practice
- Spot where variable speed drives is failing before it becomes a finding
- Make a decision about lockout and tagout without waiting for a specialist
- Explain power factor correction to someone who does not do the work
