Managing Electrical Fault Finding

Electrical and Power Engineering|3 days|Classroom or live online

This programme is for the person accountable for the work rather than the person doing it. It covers condition monitoring and load flow analysis from the position of someone who must review, approve and answer for the output. Managers carry this because maintenance teams are increasingly expected to diagnose equipment they did not commission, and the accountability does not delegate cleanly. Delegates leave able to work confidently with electrical fault analysis, lockout and tagout and cable fault location in their own organisation.

What delegates leave able to do

  • Bring electrical fault analysis into line with current good practice, measured against the SANS wiring code
  • Explain lockout and tagout to someone who does not do the work
  • Review cable fault location and say plainly whether it is working
  • Spot where variable speed drives is failing before it becomes a finding
