Managing High Voltage Operation

Electrical and Power Engineering|3 days|Classroom or live online

This programme is for the person accountable for the work rather than the person doing it. It covers electrical safety procedure and variable speed drives from the position of someone who must review, approve and answer for the output. Managers carry this because electrical incidents are among the few workplace risks that are immediately fatal, and the accountability does not delegate cleanly. Delegates leave able to work confidently with lockout and tagout, substation operation and arc flash assessment in their own organisation.

What delegates leave able to do

  • Make a decision about lockout and tagout without waiting for a specialist, measured against recognised arc flash assessment practice
  • Improve substation operation within their own organisation
  • Spot where arc flash assessment is failing before it becomes a finding
  • Review motor control centres and say plainly whether it is working
