Managing Occupational Hygiene

Health, Safety and Environment|3 days|Classroom or live online

This programme is for the person accountable for the work rather than the person doing it. It covers emergency preparedness and risk assessment from the position of someone who must review, approve and answer for the output. Managers carry this because environmental obligations are increasingly enforced against named individuals, and the accountability does not delegate cleanly. Delegates leave able to work confidently with confined space entry, occupational hygiene and root cause analysis in their own organisation.

What delegates leave able to do

  • Take ownership of confined space entry rather than escalating it, measured against the Occupational Health and Safety Act
  • Make a decision about occupational hygiene without waiting for a specialist
  • Put root cause analysis on a footing they can defend to a reviewer
  • Spot where environmental impact assessment is failing before it becomes a finding
