Managing Renewable Energy Integration

Electrical and Power Engineering|3 days|Classroom or live online

This programme is for the person accountable for the work rather than the person doing it. It covers cable fault location and motor control centres from the position of someone who must review, approve and answer for the output. Managers carry this because ageing plant is being asked to carry loads it was never specified for, and the accountability does not delegate cleanly. Delegates leave able to work confidently with standby generation, insulation testing and load flow analysis in their own organisation.

What delegates leave able to do

  • Take ownership of standby generation rather than escalating it, measured against the Occupational Health and Safety Act
  • Make a decision about insulation testing without waiting for a specialist
  • Review load flow analysis and say plainly whether it is working
  • Bring transformer maintenance into line with current good practice
