Managing Safety Leadership

5 days|Delivered on request

This programme is for the person accountable for the work rather than the person doing it. It covers occupational hygiene and root cause analysis from the position of someone who must review, approve and answer for the output. Managers carry this because incident investigation frequently stops at the immediate cause, and the accountability does not delegate cleanly. Delegates leave able to work confidently with safety management systems, environmental impact assessment and permit to work systems in their own organisation.

What delegates leave able to do

  • Review safety management systems and say plainly whether it is working, measured against the Occupational Health and Safety Act
  • Take ownership of environmental impact assessment rather than escalating it
  • Bring permit to work systems into line with current good practice
  • Spot where contractor safety management is failing before it becomes a finding
