Managing Variable Speed Drives

Electrical and Power Engineering|3 days|Classroom or live online

This programme is for the person accountable for the work rather than the person doing it. It covers transformer maintenance and cable fault location from the position of someone who must review, approve and answer for the output. Managers carry this because maintenance teams are increasingly expected to diagnose equipment they did not commission, and the accountability does not delegate cleanly. Delegates leave able to work confidently with electrical safety procedure, earthing and bonding and circuit breaker operation in their own organisation.

What delegates leave able to do

  • Spot where electrical safety procedure is failing before it becomes a finding, measured against IEC standards
  • Review earthing and bonding and say plainly whether it is working
  • Take ownership of circuit breaker operation rather than escalating it
  • Bring condition monitoring into line with current good practice
