Motor Control Centres for Managers

Electrical and Power Engineering|3 days|Classroom or live online

This programme is for the person accountable for the work rather than the person doing it. It covers standby generation and electrical safety procedure from the position of someone who must review, approve and answer for the output. Managers carry this because maintenance teams are increasingly expected to diagnose equipment they did not commission, and the accountability does not delegate cleanly. Delegates leave able to work confidently with substation operation, transformer maintenance and electrical fault analysis in their own organisation.

What delegates leave able to do

  • Improve substation operation within their own organisation, measured against IEC standards
  • Review transformer maintenance and say plainly whether it is working
  • Put electrical fault analysis on a footing they can defend to a reviewer
  • Bring switchgear maintenance into line with current good practice
