Occupational Hygiene for Non-Specialists

Health, Safety and Environment|2 days|Classroom or live online

Occupational Hygiene for Non-Specialists is built for delegates who need to be useful in this area quickly. It starts at first principles and works through contractor safety management and environmental impact assessment without assuming prior specialist training. The programme exists because safety systems are often documented to a standard that daily practice does not match, and because capability in this area is usually built on the job with no structure behind it. Delegates leave able to work confidently with permit to work systems, incident investigation and emergency preparedness in their own organisation.

What delegates leave able to do

  • Put permit to work systems on a footing they can defend to a reviewer, measured against ISO 14001
  • Take ownership of incident investigation rather than escalating it
  • Spot where emergency preparedness is failing before it becomes a finding
  • Explain safety culture to someone who does not do the work
