Permit to Work Systems in the Public Sector

Health, Safety and Environment|3 days|Classroom or live online

Permit to Work Systems in the Public Sector takes the discipline and works it through the constraints of this operating context, including safety culture, occupational hygiene and the compliance obligations that come with it. The sector framing is necessary because environmental obligations are increasingly enforced against named individuals, and generic training rarely survives contact with the local rules. Delegates leave able to work confidently with emergency preparedness, personal protective equipment and contractor safety management in their own organisation.

What delegates leave able to do

  • Put emergency preparedness on a footing they can defend to a reviewer, measured against the Occupational Health and Safety Act
  • Review personal protective equipment and say plainly whether it is working
  • Take ownership of contractor safety management rather than escalating it
  • Explain safety auditing to someone who does not do the work
